About Me

Hey, I'm Ryan Adams, a documentary filmmaker and photographer based in Iowa, with a passion for visual storytelling rooted in authenticity. From 2019 to 2023, I served as a visual journalist and visuals editor at The Daily Iowan, where I documented everything from collegiate wrestling to environmental issues across the state.

My work includes the documentaries Chasing Greatness: Wrestling Life, which aired on the Big Ten Network, and Lost in the In-Between: Graduating into 2020, a film chronicling post-college life during the pandemic. I also led a solo 329-mile kayaking expedition down the Iowa River to explore water quality and nitrate pollution, combining adventure with environmental journalism.

Through both film and photography, I aim to tell stories that resonate and have a positive impact.
